Understanding copyright - Webinar for libraries

This webinar aims to raise awareness among librarians on the role of copyright for cultural heritage, education and research institutions and share good practices.

Key objectives

  • Foster understanding of copyright rules and their application in practice among librarians, on the permitted uses of copyright-protected content in order to maximise the potential of providing access to knowledge
  • Support copyright capacity building in libraries by expanding copyright expertise among practitioners to contribute to rights clearance, to improve effective licensing and the use of applicable exceptions and limitations to copyright
  • Enhance and promote the exchange of good practices between libraries and other institutions on access to and use of copyright-protected content, with a focus on education or research
